About AutoSVF
What is AutoSVF.ro?
AutoSVF.ro is an online panel that automatically installs Metin2 serverfiles (game + mysql) on your FreeBSD server over SSH. You enter the IP and access details, pick a serverfile, and the panel runs the installation while showing you the log in real time.
How much does it cost me, as a server administrator?
Using the panel is free for you if your server's IP is authorized. IP authorization is paid for by your hosting provider, not by you.
IPs and authorization
Why is my server's IP not authorized?
Installation only works on IPs whose hosting provider has bought an authorization. If your IP is not authorized, talk to your provider so they contact us or buy the IP or IP class allocation. You can send them the page autosvf.ro/en/providers, which lists all the steps.
Can I buy the authorization for my server's IP myself?
No. Only the Metin2 server's hosting provider can buy installation access through the panel. The provider owns the IPs, so the authorization is made in their name.
What is an IP class?
A class is a /24 block of 256 consecutive addresses, from x.x.x.0 to x.x.x.255. Providers with many servers in the same block usually choose a whole class instead of individual IPs.
I changed servers and have a new IP. Does the authorization move?
No. The authorization is tied to the paid IP or class and cannot be transferred to other addresses. If the new IP is in the same authorized class, it works right away; otherwise the provider has to authorize the new IP.
How does a hosting provider pay for the authorization?
Orders and payment are made on fulgerhost.ro, which also issues the invoice: number of IPs or IP classes. It is a one-time payment, with no subscription.
Can I try AutoSVF for free?
Sometimes we run a promotion that lets you authorize one IP yourself, for free, for a limited time or number of installations. When it is active we announce it in the news bar at the top of the site, and the panel shows an activation button when you check an unauthorized IP. Each account can use the promotion on a single IP.
Installation
Which operating system does the server need?
FreeBSD 13.x, with SSH access as root. The panel checks the system before changing anything: if the server is not running FreeBSD 13, the installation stops and nothing is deleted.
What gets deleted from the server during installation?
The installation completely removes the existing game server and the MySQL databases: /usr/home/*, /usr/game, /var/db/mysql and /mt2. At the end the server restarts automatically. Make a backup first; deleted data cannot be recovered.
Which serverfiles can I install?
Cheice2, Clean, Happiness, Hypnotic2, TMP4, Imperial, Mistic3, Neoria, Clasic, Zeryon, Eridanus (Global) and Happiness V2. You pick one in the panel with a click.
What are the 32-bit libs and when should I tick them?
They are the system libraries the game server needs. Tick the option if the VPS has just been installed with FreeBSD 13: the panel puts them in /usr/lib32 before the serverfile. If you already have them, leave it unticked.
Can I use an SSH key instead of a password?
Yes. In the panel choose “SSH key” and paste the private key (OpenSSH or PEM format), with its passphrase if it has one.
Do you store my SSH password?
No. The SSH password and key are only kept in memory for the duration of the installation and never reach the database. We only keep the IP, port, user, the server key fingerprint and the installation log. We recommend changing the root password after installing.
How long does an installation take?
It depends on the speed of the server and its internet connection. You follow the progress live, and the panel automatically stops any installation that runs longer than 45 minutes.
What do I get at the end of the installation?
The panel extracts from the log and shows you the Navicat (MySQL) password, the GM account username and password and the GM character name. Change them right after the first start.
The installation failed. What should I do?
The error message says what happened: wrong SSH details, closed port, a system other than FreeBSD 13 or a download problem. Fix it and start the installation again. If the log shows download errors, the installation is marked “With errors” and you can run it again.
How many installations can I run?
You can reinstall as often as you need, within these limits: at most 2 installations running at the same time, only one on the same server, and at most 10 per hour.
